Easter Party

We went and had breakfast with the Easter Bunny and they had games, Alex got his face painted and he won a cake in the cake walk. We also did a couple trips around the fellowship hall doing the bunny hop.

I forgot my real camera and so had to take pics with my camera phone. I even uploaded and then deleted the pics on my camera just so I could take pics today, but then walked right out of the house without it. On the upside, the church's photographer took a pic of each kid with the Bunny and they printed them out right there. So I have a really nice picture that didn't cost me $20 like at the mall. They did a cute foam easter egg frame so once I scan the pic up and make some copies I'll crop it and glue it to the frame. All in all, it was a fun day. You can't beat winning a cake! For your enjoyment, a few pictures:

YAY!!!!! We now have the keys and can begin moving in to our new place!!! I'm so excited and relieved!!! Alex will have a fenced in yard and screened in back porch to play in and I'll have a dishwasher!! We get bigger bedrooms too! I can not wait to move now! There are so many more pros there than here.

Tomorrow is the MOMS Club easter egg hunt and then after that I will begin carting stuff over to the new place! Plus Bill is off tomorrow evening so we can load up his pickup and make a couple trips with all the stuff we don't need over the next 2 weeks.

Alex really seems to like the place and is completely loving the stairs so hopefully he won't have a problem transitioning to living there.

YAY!!!!!

I'm going to take Alex up to the mall for his pic w/ the Easter Bunny. With all the moving crap I almost forgot that this is the last week to do that--since Easter is Sunday and all.

We went to WalMart the other night and bought the stuff for his Easter Basket--yum, I can't wait until Sunday. I'm dreading when he's old enough to want to eat all his candy--LOL. I have, I mean he has Reese's peanut butter eggs, Cadbury Caramel eggs, Jelly Belly jelly beans and a bunch of other yummy things, plus some toys he can play with. We don't have any dinner plans but that's ok because it's not like he really gets it yet anyway. Plus, I'm not up to it with being up until midnight every night to clean and pack. Ugh.

YAY! I have 2 requests for Arbonne samples. I really need to throw myself back into that and get it going as a money-making business! But I don't think I'm going to be able to afford to keep my replicating website for another year so that will expire in June--because of having to move. Otherwise, we could have afforded it. But if I sell $350 in product, I could earn the money that way...check out www.livingbetter.myarbonne.com. Plus they have new products coming out at the end of the month--I can't wait to find out what they are!

Ok, I'm going to indulge myself and be "that" mom--you know, the one who thinks their kid does no wrong. Hahahaha. Well, in kindermusik today there were more kids that could walk and they were all rambunctious and the one that everyone was ooohhhhing and aaaahhhing over last week was going around and trying to grab the other kids' hair today! Aaaah, justice!!!!! (heavy sarcasm here, but that snotty mom part of me felt awfully good nonetheless!) My kiddo was an angel and was smiley and happy the whole time. Ok, I will bring my nose out of the air now.... lol

My little man loves to take baths! I was letting him run around in a diaper and a shirt and he comes over and is pulling at his shirt to get it off so I help him and then he immediately turns and runs to the bathroom door and when I asked him if he wanted a bath he got this huge smile on his face. I was baking cookies at the time so I told him as soon as I was done with the cookies I would give him a bath. Oh man, once he was in the tub he was so happy! He has a bunch of rubber ducks to play with and our shower curtain has ducks on it, so he is constantly pointing and saying duck, as well as splashing and throwing things out of the tub and putting them back in the tub. It was quite a time. Then after I took him out of the bath and got him dressed in jammies, he goes right to my bedroom door because he loves to play on the bed and climb around in there. So I let him in there and I laid on the bed and watched him and pulled him up when he wanted up and made sure he got down ok when he wanted down. Finally we were done in there and went back out to the living room and he was starting to get a bit fussy so I asked if he was tired and he rubbed his eyes so I picked him up and put him in bed--no fuss, no muss, he lays right down. I love how he communicates with me (when I can figure out what he means!) and I love how easily he goes to bed at night. I hope he stays this compliant about bed time.

That worries me about moving. I hope he adjusts ok to major change. I think he was a little agitated earlier, he doesn't know why we keep seeing empty houses and a person. So I told him we were all moving together and that he was going to get a bigger new room to play in. And I just repeated that we weren't leaving him and he's not leaving us and that seemed to calm him down. Poor thing.

I tried posting yesterday but kept getting an error message--aargh. Anyway, I have now looked at 3 places and the funny thing is they are all on the same street but owned by different people! We are about 95% sure which one we want and though it will be more than what we are paying now it will definitely be worth it--it has a screened in back porch, we get to use the propane grill that the owner is leaving there, a fenced in back yard--this is a big deal with Alex, I'm thrilled about that, a dishwasher!!!!!! I'm really thrilled about that-between that and my new food processor I would actually cook! And this summer, we'll definitely be grilling. It has a ceiling fan in the dining room downstairs and a ceiling fan in the master bedroom upstairs, and newer windows so they'll actually open for us unlike where we live now with 50 year old windows covered in 10 coats of paint and you have to take a utility knife around them and bang on them to get them open. Plus, she's leaving her window a/c so we won't have to buy one this spring so that saves us money right there. And the fact that with the newer windows and it being brick and actually insulated our gas bill in the winter will be substantially lower than what we now pay. All in all, I think it's definitely worth the extra money. We're just going to cancel cable and netflix, it may turn out we don't even need to do that, but we will for now, since I was planning on cancelling cable over the summer anyway since Alex and I will be outside much more.

On Sunday, we're going to go back and look at it since I was the only one who saw it yesterday. We can really go through it more thoroughly-it has a garage too so we need to look at that, plus turn on the water and open and close everything and turn all the switches on and off, all that good stuff. I was so thrilled when I saw how nice it was I didn't think about turning the water on and off and all the other stuff. But I have a list so I can make sure I check for everything I'm looking for and have questions on.

I'm a compulsive list maker and moving certainly provides an outlet for that. I was up until 12:30am making lists of what we need movers to move, what movers to call and get estimates from, a cleaning supply list, and a room by room detailed cleaning list for when the place is empty and I come back by myself to clean. I couldn't sleep because it was all going through my head and I knew the only way I'd get to sleep is if I got up and just made the lists.

Bill is going to take off the week we move so that we can get things situated as quickly as possible and get the old place spic and span for our little inspection to make sure we get our security deposit back in full. Unfortunately, I also have to replace the dining room wallpaper because Alex has ripped it off in spots. I'm hoping to only have to replace the panels he damaged. We have a roll and half of the paper in the basement so at least I don't have to buy it.

So much to do and I'm wasting time posting about it. hahaha. At least I did do some useful stuff on the computer--2 of the movers have websites so I submitted estimate requests to them instead of calling. I'm definitely more of an online person than on the phone person for business purposes.

We had another warm day here so I took Alex to a different park. It's really nice. In the play area with the slides and swings they have this really soft rubbery feeling ground cover. It's solid--not rubber pieces. It's kind of squishy feeling underneath too. Alex had fun climbing up the steps and then going down the different slides. I got some pictures of him. He also ran around the place like a madman. He wanted to go in the grass but it was too wet and muddy so he wasn't happy with me when I would direct him back to the rubbery play area, but he was fine when he would get there. I swear, I'm going to lose all my weight this summer just chasing after him at parks. I can't wait until it's warm and sunny every day.

The MOMS Club has an Easter Egg hunt planned the week after next. I hope it's nice out that day. The kids are going to hunt for plastic eggs that we've filled up with stickers or little toys.

We are also going to the Akron Zoo in April. I'm debating if I even need to bring the stroller since Alex loves to walk/run on his own. Plus the Akron Zoo is not nearly as large as the Cleveland Zoo. I'm also going to get a family membership because then we can get into both Zoos for free after that.

Then the following weekend is our big MOMS Day out and we're going shopping at Legacy Village which, among other things, boasts a Cheesecake Factory restaurant--I'm definitely getting a slice of Dulce de Leche cheesecake. I went to one in Chicago and had that and it was absolutely heavenly. Plus, they have an Osh Kosh store so I can get some stuff for Alex.

After that, we have a trip planned to Inventure Place. I'll have to ask one of the moms who's been if they have something for kids Alex's age so I'm not sure if we're going to that.

Of course, he also has Kindermusik every Monday. And we have Easter in April as well-which means pictures with the Easter Bunny. I'll have to look at my calendar and see when we can fit that in.
